Machu Picchu
The trip to Machu Pichu
It all started so easy to Machu Picchu, getting up early, taxi to the first busstation, but then the adventurous trip started....
Even i was the evening before at the busstation and askd for the departures, the next morning the schedule changed and i had to cross the half city to the other busstation where i just managed to get on the bus...usually 5 hours to Santa Maria, but hey...we´re in South America and it´s rainy season, a bus in front of us couldn´t make it through a rock slideand we waited an hour and anyway, it took us a long time...
After three hours of waiting in Santa Maria finally a truck gave us a ride to the next town bc there is no public transport. We sat on flower, veggies and furniture for a whole 10 head family...on this way next to us a descent going down a few hundred metres and the truck was not really safe....and then a mudslide directly in front of the truck!! Tons of mud, rocks and shit floating down the mountain...hey it´s rainy season!
But then we decided to cross that mudslide when it stopped, well, i hab my shorties with me and jumped in the mud, no it was not that funny sinking in the mud over my knee and the mudslide could start again...anyway, after 30 metres we reached hard ground and made it to the next town within half an hour. Hospedaje just 1,5 $!!
Next morning getting up at five and starting a 4 hour trek along a nice valley to a Hydroelectrica and then follow the railway till Agues Calientes, where we got up to Machu Picchu finally. It all took a lot of power but it was worth it....this little adventure!

Cusco
Now, i´m in Cusco, recovering from the mountain tip...and my hotel is pretty great, not even the name "Royal Frankenstein", the interieur looks like the same...
And still looking for a cheap way to Machu Pichu.
Nice churches here too
I really don´t like to give these little kids money for their services like cleaning shoes, so i just bought them a soccer ball and we started playing until the police stopped us. You should see these happy faces....

Chachani Part II
And here is the second part of Chachani:
After we climbed from 4.200m to 5.000m (basecamp) in a few hours and just had dinner at 5pm we slept for a few hours just to get up at 10pm and starting the hike. Less sleep, freezing coldness of minus 7 degrees Celsius and a body which was never on an altitude higher than 4.200m before made it pretty hard for me. During the hike i fall behind with Jorge but it´s more a mental thing and after 8 hours of climbing through rocks and deep snow we reached the fast group. After 10 hours i made it finally to the top and was so glad a made it, 6.075m!!! The way back was even harder, no more power and it started to snow and further down to rain.
The basecamp
Part of the hike through deep snow
Last hill up 280m more, the rest of the group stayed down (the black dots), in the background you see the way we came
Made it, yippieh!!!!! In the background smaller vulcano Misti (5.825m), very nice.

The trip to Chachani Part I
Colca Canyon was nice, but now it was time for the real adventure! Climbing a mountain above 6.000m (for my american friends, nearly 20.000 feet). And this is the first part, first it was hard to find a group who wanna climb this vulcano because most people just wanna climb Misti, the smaller and nicer vulcano here in Arequipa but i wanna beat my friend Daniel who just climed Kilimandsharo in Africa with an altitude of 5.967m. So here we begin...
First we drove with the dody 4WD car up to the beginning of thye mountain but in the first desert a tire explode and we had to change the wheel. Then the gas pump was frozen!!! And we had to heat up the gas pump with an unconventional method, the german hot piss!!! German piss lasts 6mins, english piss 4.5 mins, american piss 3 mins, normal water 2 mins for driving. I know this sounds weird, but after a few minutes the pump was always frozen again. On 4.200m we decided that this method just costs too much time and we started the climb.
Broken car, in the background you see Captain Richard of the british forces, in his regime is Prince Harry! Well he didn´t made it to the top, but very nice guy.
Vicunas, one of the most expensive seals in the world
German pee helps a frozen gas pump, i never thought that might work out...

Colca Canyon, Peru
Heyho,
i got a new camera, so here´ll be some more piccies in the next future.
Just came back from a 36km trek through the Colca Canyan, which is one of the deepest canyons in the world and more than double as deep as the Grand Canyon, US. We did the hiking between 2.100m and 3.267m altitude, always up and down. This was the practice run for Chachani vulcano, which i´ll do after this...
Btw, 36km is about 24 miles for my american friends...
This trek was hard because usually it takes three days, we made it in 1 and a half which meant getting up at 3am and climbing 1.300m up from the bottom to the top, but it was worth it and i´m glad i made it.
Here are some pics
If you look closely, you can see some condors, unfortunetely my camera has not the best zoom
In the canyon
Impressive rocks...
I made it and we climed the last ascent in 3hours, always with Mate, the tea of the coca leafs which are legal here and helps against altitude sickness

More piccies
Ecuador
Hola!
Now i,m already in Peru, still no camera but my mate Clayton from Hawaii was so kind to take a few for me too and i can let you know what i´m doing...
After a few days in Quito where i met a old friend from highschool i went to Otavala market and other sights around like craters or the equator where an egg can stand on a nail! I made it, yes! And some oyher experiments i can´t explain, but physics was never my lovely class...
Then i went on a two day hike, really awesome. The Quilotoa crater in a height of 4000m was so cool, i had to jump in, but i can tell you the coldness in cm....i was not even 10 seconds in...nice and friendly people around, but transport is so difficult there,. we hyad to take the gasoline truck.
After this experience Clayton and me went to Peru, first to Mancora where i had some awesome surf, long lefthanders and a really hard sunburn which i still feel today...Today we are in Trujillo, where some old ruins made of claw are, impressing.
